Legal Drafts only

Drafts. Nothing here is in force.

Placeholder terms, privacy and disclosures. No lawyer has reviewed them. They are here so the shape of the promises can be read early and marked up.

Terms

Draft · not in force

What a worker, a guest and an operator could rely on. A sketch of the promises, not a contract.

  1. 01

    What Ins Tip is

Ins Tip gives a worker a tip tag and a record of the tips paid to it. Ins Tip is not a bank, not a money transmitter, not a card issuer and not a tax adviser.

  2. 02

    Tips are voluntary

A guest chooses the amount and may choose nothing. No amount is selected in advance, and there is always a way to leave without tipping.

  3. 03

    The service fee

The guest pays a service fee on top, shown before payment. Nothing is taken from a tip. In this preview it is $0.50 on a tip to a worker. The level is not decided.

  4. 04

    Where the money goes

Payments are taken and paid out by licensed providers, on Ins Tip’s instruction. Ins Tip does not hold, pool or own customer money. The venue is never in the flow of funds.

  5. 05

    The record

For each tip Ins Tip keeps the amount, the date, that it was voluntary, that it was paid in dollars, and the worker’s occupation code. From it the worker gets a monthly report to hand to an employer and a year-end statement.

  6. 06

    Tip your Agent

A tip to an agent is paid to the agent’s operator: a person or a company, not the AI. Business income for the operator. Not a qualified tip.

  7. 07

    No advice

Nothing Ins Tip shows is tax, legal or financial advice. Estimate for your own planning. Your actual deduction depends on your whole return.

  8. 08

    Text messages

This preview sends none. A live service would text a worker only with their consent, asked for apart from these terms: one consent for account texts (sign-in codes, tips that land and report reminders) and a separate one for marketing texts. Agreeing to marketing texts is not a condition of using Ins Tip. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help.

  9. 09

    How to complain

This preview has no support desk, because nothing is live. A live service would say here how to reach one. A person on our team handles disputes and complaints.

Privacy

Draft · not in force

What this preview does with data, which is very little. A privacy notice for a live service is not written yet.

  1. 01

    This preview

This site has no accounts, no analytics and no tracking scripts. The forms on it and the tip page send nothing and store nothing. The people and venues in the examples are invented.

  2. 02

    Typefaces

The pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google for those files. Nothing else is fetched from a third party.

  3. 03

    A live service

A live service would need a notice that says what is collected, why, who holds it and for how long. Identity checks would be run by the payments provider, not by Ins Tip. That notice has not been written.

  4. 04

    Text-message consent

We do not share your text-message opt-in with third parties for their marketing.

Disclosures

Draft · not in force

The lines that have to sit beside money, cards and tax, gathered in one place.

  1. 01

    Not a bank

Ins Tip is a technology company, not a bank. Payments and card services are provided by licensed partners.

  2. 02

    Tax

Up to $25,000 of qualified tips can be deducted from federal taxable income for tax years 2025 to 2028. Social Security and Medicare taxes still apply. State rules differ. Limits apply: listed occupations, income phase-out, and tips must be reported. Estimate for your own planning. Your actual deduction depends on your whole return.

  3. 03

    Speed

Cash out to your own debit card. Typically within 30 minutes, any hour of any day. That is the provider’s typical time, not a promise.

  4. 04

    The card

The Ins Tip card is planned. It is not live. This is a preview. The card will always be your choice. Your tips reach you with or without it.

  5. 05

    Reporting to an employer

If you are an employee and receive $20 or more in tips in a month, you must report them to your employer by the 10th of the next month. Your report is ready in the app. You hand it in.

  6. 06

    The name

Ins Tip is a working name and may change before anything is public.
